          Edward L. Poole,  79, Shelbyville, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at his home.  He was born May 1, 1916, in Rush County, the son of  James and Matilda (Baker) Poole.  On April 27, 1953, he married  Irma (Adams) Poole,  and she survives.
          Mr. Poole was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.  He had worked as an exterminator for  Morris DePrez Extermital.
          Other survivors include two daughters,  Linda Kay Hauk,  Shelbyville, and  Katina Toon,  Morristown;  five sons,  Robert Dale Poole,  David Leo Poole  and  James Henry Poole,  all of Shelbyville,  Michael Edward Poole,  Texas, and  Gary Poole,  Middletown; a brother,  Arthur Gene Poole,  Cave Creek, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
          Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Service.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery, Shelby County.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by local veterans organizations.

          Services for  James Benjamin Pool,  77, 226 Goodrich Ave., who died Thursday, December 29, 1988, at Heritage House Convalescent Center, Greensburg, will be at noon Saturday at the Murphy Mortuary where friends may call today at 4-9 p.m.
          Mr. Pool had been a self-employed carpenter.
          A son of  James and  Matilda Marlene (Baker) Pool,  he was born Sept. 12, 1911.  He was married May 22, 1949, to  Dorothy Basey,  who survives.
          Also surviving are a daughter,  Lucinda Kendall,  Dexter, Mo.; stepdaughters,  Vera Jean Jones,  Grandville, S.C. and  Leoda Mae Heskell,  Shelbyville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers,  Arthur Pool,  Arizona, and  Edward Pool,  Milroy.  One sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral Wednesday
For County Woman

          Services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Murphy Mortuary for  Robert M. Poole,  56, 740 Second St., who died Sunday afternoon at Major Hospital.  He had been ill for four months.
          Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Cemetery, with  Rev. Clarence Hager  officiating.  Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion.  Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Tuesday.
          Mr. Poole was employed for 43 years at the Amos-Thompson Corporation in Edinburg.  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific theater of operations with the 151st Infantry.  He was a member of the American Legion.
          Born in Lewis Creek on Nov. 14, 1909, he was the son of  James and Matilda Pool.  Surviving are three brothers,  James B. Pool  and  Edward L. Pool  of Shelbyville and  Arthur E. Pool  of Hastings, Mich.

          Mrs. Matilda M. Pool,  77, 740 Second St., died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday at her home.  She had been critically ill for two weeks.
          Born Sept. 15, 1886, in Paducah, Ky., she married  James E. Pool  and he died in 1932.  Mrs. Pool came here 30 years ago from Middletown.
          Surviving are four sons,  Robert M.,  James B.  and  Edward L. Pool,  all of this city, and  Arthur E. Pool  of Hastings, Mich.  A son,  Elmer Pool  was killed at Pearl Harbor, and a daughter  Mrs. Edith Jeffries  is deceased.
          Also surviving are a sister,  Mrs. Lucille Keitel  of Evansville, 11 grandchildrenand seven great-grandchildren.
          Mrs. Pool was a member of the Moscow Christian Church.
          Rev. Clarence Hager  will conduct services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy Mortuary.  Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.  Friends may call at the mortuary at any time.

Tuberculosis Caused Death
Former County Resident;
Widow, Children Survive.

FUNERAL  SERVICES  FRIDAY
----------
          An extended illness, due to tuberculosis, resulted in death for  James Pool,  55, Tuesday morning at 8:00 o'clock at the Cragmont hospital, in Madison.  He had been a patient at the hospital for the past eight years, but previous to that time had been a resident of this county.
          On September 13, 1878, he was born in Union township, Shelby county, the son of  Benjamin and  Eleanor Pool  and the twin brother of  Charles Pool  of Washington township.  He was married to  Miss Matilda Baker,  who survives, February 12, 1908.  Six children were born to this union.
          Besides the widow, the deceased is survived by one daughter,  Mrs. Edith Josephine Jeffries,  of Liberty township; two brothers,  Charles Pool, of Washington township, and  William E.,  of St. Paul, Minnesota; two sisters,  Mrs. Jesse Ray  and  Mrs. Isaac McCarty,  both of Washington township, and several nieces and nephews.
          He had been a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist church for the past thirty-five years.  The body was removed from the hospital at Madison to this city this morning.
          Last rites will be held at the C. F. Fix & Son chapel Friday at 2:30 p.m. with  Dr. A. E. Cowley,  pastor of the First Baptist church, of this city, officiating.  Burial will be in the family lot in Mt. Pisgah cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home anytime after 4:00 o'clock this evening.
