THE  SHELBY  REPUBLICAN
February 23, 1897
----------
The funeral of  Dalton Query,  of Blue Ridge, which was hold Friday, was one of the largest ever in the county out side this city.  Services were conducted at the Christian Union church by the Rev. G. W. Hagans, of this city.  People were gathered from all the surrounding country, the church not being adequate to hold half of those in attendance.  The Masonic and Odd Fellows lodges of Waldron were there in a body and not less than fifty members of the fraternities of this city attended.  The services at the grave were conducted by the Masonic lodge, of Waldron.

The people from this city who attended the funeral of  Dalton Query, at Blue Ridge, on Friday, are profuse in their praise for the manner in which they were treated by the people of that place.  Every house was thrown open for their comfort, their horses were cared for and every person who would accept was given an invitation by some one to remain with them for dinner.  For all these favors our people were very thankful.
