Helen P. Safewright, 66, of Morristown, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, automobile accident.
Born April 24, 1934, d/o Elza and Lotta (McMurray) Stephens. Married Roy G. Safewright on Jan. 16, 1954, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Rebecca Anne Abston) Jones of Ada, Okla., and Mrs. Joseph (Janet) Bolan of West Lafayette; one brother, Charles J. Stephens of Shelbyville; one sister, Mrs. James (RoseMary Billie) Nolley of Fairland; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.
Graduated in 1952 from Boggstown High School; graduated with honors in 1992 from Ivy Tech Nursing School.
Member of Gideons Auxiliary and Morristown Christian Church.
Morristown Christian Church, 209 S. Washington St., Morristown, with the Revs. Pete Taylor and Jim Coyle officiating.
Burial East Hill Cemetery in Rushville.
