Martha Ella Showers

Martha Ella Showers, 86, of Shelbyville, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002.
Born April 18, 1916, in Manilla, she was the daughter of  Joseph L. and Mary (John) Tuerff.  Married  J. R. Showers Jr. on May 7, 1952, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1992.
Survivors include one son, J. R. Showers III  of Shelbyville; and two grandchildren.
Preceded in death by one brother, Clark Tuerff.
Mrs. Showers was a homemaker, and she previously worked for Stanley Jones Agency.
Tri Kappa Sorority of Shelbyville, American History Columbia Club of Indianapolis, First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
Indiana Business College of Indianapolis.

Mrs. Josephine Showers, 60, died Thursday at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.  Seriously ill for the past two months.
Born Oct 5, 1910, Shelbyville, d/o  Herbert C.  and  Claire (Tennant) Jones.
Married  Richard B. Showers May 8, 1935.
Survivors:  husband;  sister, Mrs. Pleas E. (Kathryn) Greenlee Jr., Saratoga, CA.
Lifelong resident of Shelby Co.
1015 Spring Hill Dr.
President of Stanley Jones Agency, Inc.
Member of the First United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa Assoc Chap, American History Club and Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

Born June 23, 1885, Shelbyville, s/o  Julius L.  and  Frances Sadler Showers.
Married  Letha Brant; she survives.
Other survivors:  sons,  Joseph R. Showers, Jr., Waldron,  Richard B. Showers,  William T. Showers, both of Shelbyville; sister, Mrs. Helen Dickey, Chicago; one grandson.
Spent most of life in Shelbyville.
Member of the First Methodist Church, Shelbyville.
Member Elks Lodge and National Office Dealers Association.
