        DIES  IN  HOSPITAL

George Socks, Age 54 Years,
of New Castle Died
Today In Indianapolis

BRING  BODY  TO  THIS  CITY

          The death of  George Socks, of New Castle, former Shelby county resident, occurred at one o'clock this morning at the Robert Long hospital in Indianapolis, where he had been confined for a week suffering with heart disease.  Mr. Socks was born in this county October 20, 1875, being 54 years of age.  He moved from this vicinity about 19 years ago.  His marriage to Miss Anna Mathew took place in 1898.  He leaves the widow and two sons, Earl and Wade Socks, of New Castle.  Two brothers and one sister, Ray Socks of this city, Samuel Goeble, of near Shelbyville and  Mrs. Stacey Zell, of this city, also survive.  The body was brought to the Morris H. Sleeth funeral home late this afternoon, where funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock.  Burial will be in the Marion cemetery.

          Mrs. Henry Socks died at her home an East Jackson street at eight o'clock Wednesday night, March 18th, 1888 of puerperal fever, age thirty-five years.  She leaves seven small children motherless, the youngest but two weeks old.  The funeral services were held at the house at ten o'clock Friday morning, Rev. J. A. Sargent officiating.  The remains were interred at Marion by funeral directors Cummins & Edwards.  Deceased was the eldest daughter of  Samuel Kaster, of Marion township.
