          Reuben Spicer, the veteran journalist, and during the civil war one of the best known Democratic editors in the State, was run down and killed by a freight train on Saturday evening at Shelbyville while walking on the Big Four tracks.  For a number of years Mr. Spicer had been totally deaf, otherwise he retained all of his faculties and physical vigor.
