FORMER  LOCAL  RESIDENT  DIES
John Thoman, 79, Dies At Home in Rush County

John Thoman, 79, died at his home in Rush county at 12:30 a.m. today, Monday, October 26, 1953.
Formerly resided east of this city.  Farmer, he had moved from Shelby county about two years ago.
S/o  Valentine and Elizabeth (Humpert) Thoman, born in Oldenburg on August 28, 1874. 
Married to the former Ida Ruhlman, who survives.
Also surviving:  son, Frederick, home, and four daughters, Mrs. [Rosemary] Paul Schroeder near Greensburg, Mrs. Marion England Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Miss Delores Thoman, Indianapolis and Sister Cora, Tipton; brother and three sisters, all of Cincinnati, Ohio;  12 grandchildren.
Services:  St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rushville.

THOMAN  RITES  TO  BE  SATURDAY
Funeral for Theodore Thoman at St. Vincent
----------
          Theodore Thoman, aged 74, died at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Madison State Hospital after an illness of more than four years.  Death was due to a complication of diseases.
          Born in Oldenburg Sept. 2, 1872, Mr. Thomas was the son of  Valentine and  Elizabeth (Tedde) Thoman.  He had been a resident of Shelby county since the age of 15 and was a well-known farmer in the community.  He was a member of the St. Vincent's Catholic Church.
          Mr. Thoman's first wife, Katie Graham, whom he married on Aug. 20, 1900, died June 30, 1922.  They were parents of four chidren, all of whom survive, including one son, Henry Thoman, Shelby county; three daughters,  Mrs. Paul Beyer, Shelby county;  Mrs. Pearl Spear  and  Mrs. May Lister, both of Indianapolis.  Three grandchildren also survive.
          On May 25, 1929, he married  Miss Elizabeth Dellekamp, who died Feb. 23, 1942.  Also surviving are three brothers,  John  and  Anthony Thoman, of Shelby county, and  August Thoman, of Cincinnati; three sisters,  Mesdames Lena Hartzel,  Catherine Heintzelman  and  Josephine Stephans, all of Cincinnati.
          Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the St. Vincent's Church with the Rev. John Bankowski officiating.  Burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery.  Friends may call at the Charles M. Ewing mortuary.
