Mabel May Van Cleve, 86, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, Greensburg.
Born on July 14, 1917, in Middletown, d/o  John  and  Ola (Hammond) Benson.  Married  Richard L. Van Cleve  on Feb. 17, 1940, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1987.
Survivors include one daughter,  Janet (Phillip) Mohr,  of Osgood; one brother,  John F. Benson,  of Waldron; two grandchildren,  Troy Mohr,  of Versailles, and  Christi Heaton,  of Madison; and several nephews and nieces.
Preceded in death by two sisters,  Katherine Nauert  and  Evelyn Ash. 1935 graduate of Waldron High School.
Homemaker and part-time Red Cross worker through SCUFFY for about 20 years.
Member of First United Methodist Church.
Carmony-Ewing Broadway Street Funeral Home, 232 W. Broadway St, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 34 W. Washington St., Shelbyville, IN 46176 or to Hospice of Decatur Co.

          Martha Agness,  the 15 months and 1 days old daughter of  Mr. and Mrs. Charles VanCleve  died at their home, No. 48 East Taylor street at 10 o'clock a.m. Tuesday Dec. 9th, of congestion of the bowels.  Mr. and Mrs. VanCleve have the sympathy of their many friends in the loss of their only daughter.  Funeral service will be held at the home at 2 p.m., Thursday Dec. 11, Elder Mahan officiating.  The interment will be made in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Edwards & Hageman.
