MR.  VANSICKLE
DIES  IN  HOSPITAL

          James C. VanSickle,  62, of R.R. 1, Flat Rock, the last of a family of 13, died in Major Hospital at 2:30 a.m. today of a heart condition.  Mr. VanSickle was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago and his home was near Norristown.  The son of  John A. and  Josephine (Bell) VanSickle,  he was born in Rush County on May 21, 1902.  On March 17, 1928, he married  Ruth E. Crafton,  and she died June 16, 1950.
          Formerly a farmer, he was a motor route carrier for the Shelbyville News until a month ago, and was a member of Farmers Masonic Lodge 117 of Norristown.
          One son,  George E. VanSickle  of R.R. 1, Flat Rock, survives.
          Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Norman Funeral Home in Hope, with the Rev. Marvin Isley officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  The Farmers Lodge will conduct Masonic rites.  Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

Heart Attack Fatal To
Norristown Woman, 50

          Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth VanSickle,  50, wife of  James C. VanSickle,  died unexpectedly of a heart attack last night at 9:00 o'clock at her home in Norristown.  County Coroner  Dr. C. J. Price  said Mrs. VanSickle had not been in ill health and death apparently was due to a heart attack.
          Mrs. VanSickle was born in Bartholomew county on Dec. 2, 1899, but had spent practically her entire life in Shelby county.  She was a daughter of  Grant and  Elva (Kemp) Crafton  and was married to Mr. VanSickle in Shelbyville on March 17, 1927.  He survives with one son,  George E.,  at home, and the mother, Mrs. Crafton, Flat Rock, R.R. 1.  Also surviving are a sister,  Mrs. Edith Grecian,  Flat Rock, R.R. 1, and a brother,  George W. Crafton  of this city.
          Mrs. VanSickle was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ, the aid society of the church and the Flat Rock Citizens' Committee.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. (DST) at the Pleasant Grove church, with Rev. Edwin Sweeney of Columbus officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery in charge of the Ewing Mortuary.  Friends may call at the home of the mother after 5:00 p.m. today.

Rites for Freeport Woman
To Be Conducted Saturday

          Mrs. Grace F. VanSickle,  wife of  William Robert VanSickle,  died at her home in Freepart[sic] at 3:00 o'clock this morning.  Mrs. VanSickle, who had been in failing health for the past year, was 74 years of age.  She was born in Fountaintown on November 2, 1875, and had spent her entire life in Shelby and Rush counties.  She was the daughter of  George W. and  Mary A. Smith.
          SURVIVING  WITH  the husband are two sisters and one brother,  Mrs. Margaret Jones  of Indianapolis,  Mrs. Martha Morrison  of Spokane, Wash., and  Wilbur Smith  of Texas.  One nephew and one niece also survive.
          Friends may call at the L.V. Hauk Funeral Home in Morristown until 9:30 a.m. Saturday.  The body will be taken to the Murphy Funeral Home in Milroy where last rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. (DST), Saturday.  Burial will be made in Milroy cemetery.
