Robert K. Yeager, 97, of Indianapolis died Thursday, April 29, 2010.
Born March 17, 1913, Waldron, to  Charles S. and  Nellie E. (Moore) Yeager.
Married  Virginia K. McCormick  on Aug. 31, 1940; she preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 1994.
Survivors:  daughter, Marilyn J. Duran of Greenwood; son,  John Michael Yeager (wife, Vivian) of Indianapolis; sisters,  Mildred Boyle of Shelbyville and  Betty Benson (husband, John) of Waldron; grandchildren, Chad Duran  (wife, Laura Hilden) of Greenwood, Christina Rhoad (husband, Nicholas) of McCordsville and  Marcella Hoff (husband, Dr. Bryan) of Bloomington; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters,  Evelyn Weintraut and  Maxine Winkler; and brothers,  Donald Yeager and  Roy Yeager.
Southside land developer operating Yeager Realty for 59 years.
U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Member of Community Church at Murphy’s Landing, Southport Masonic Lodge No. 270 F&AM, Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.

Kathryn E. Yeager, 96, of Seveirville, Tenn., died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003.
Born July 28, 1907, in Rushville, d/o  Clarence and Bessie (Walker) Borem.  Married  Donald G. Yeager  and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Henry  of Seveirville and  Barbara Tucker (husband  Dale) of Shelbyville; one son, Jim Yeager  (wife, Cindy)  of Monticello, Fla.; two sisters, Frances Borel[sic]  of Shelbyville and  Maude Tincher  of North Carolina; two brothers, Richard Borem  of Florida and  James Hoard  of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Jean Yeager; one sister, Helen Tyler; and one grandson, Gary Yeager.
Homemaker.

Rites Saturday For Retired Contractor

Otto P. Yeager, 89, died at his home at 203 W. Broadway this morning at 4:30 o’clock.  Had not been ill; had worked about his home all day Wednesday.  Death was attributed to heart condition.
Born in Blue Ridge November 30, 1869, s/o  Samuel and Melvina (Jarrell) Yeager
Widely known retired contractor; for many years in business with his brother, A. L. Yeager; retired 18 years ago. 
L life-long local resident.  
On April 6, 1910 married  Alma Phares, who preceded in death January 20, 1948. 
Member of the Shelbyville Odd fellows Lodge for 65 years.
Member of the First Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors:  sister, Miss Esta Yeager, who made her home with her brother; a brother, Charles S. Yeager  of Waldron, a sister, Mrs. Maude Jewett  of near St. Omer and several nieces and nephews. 
Two brothers and two sisters preceded in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Rev. Fred Whitaker officiating.
Burial:  Forest Hill cemetery.

Art L. Yeager, 80, died at his home, 171 W. Broadway, at 4:30 this morning.  Failing health for two years but death, attributed to a heart attack was unexpected.
Husband of  Katherine Yeager* .
Retired contractor, affiliated with his brother, O. P. Yeager, in the Yeager Brothers Building Contractors from here. Member of the First Baptist Church .
55-year member of the I.O.O.F at Waldron.  S/o  Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Yeager  and was born at Blue Ridge January 2, 1879.
Surviving:  widow ; three children, Paul B. Yeager,  Mrs. Louis H. Siefert  and  Mrs. Ralph S. Briggs  of this city;  four grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers and two sisters, O. P. Yeager, and  Miss Esta Yeager of this city, Charles Yeager  of Waldron and  Mrs. Maude Jewett  of St. Omer.
Carmony Funeral Home, Rev. Frederick Whitaker will officiate.
Burial:  Forest Hill cemetery.

Rites For Harley Yeager To Be Conducted Saturday

          Harley C. Yeager, 78 year-old former Shelby county resident died at the Scott Nursing Home at Pendleton Thursday night at 10:30.  He had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill for the last month.
          Born near Blue Ridge on July 4,1873, Mr. Yeager resided in Shelby county until moving to Pendleton six years ago.  He was the son of  Samuel  and  Melvina (Jarrell) Yeager  and was a member of the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church and the Waldron Masonic and Odd Fellows lodges.
          On September 5, 1895 he married  Eva I. McColley, who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Peek, of Pendleton.  Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters:  A. L. Yeager,  Otto P. Yeager  and  Miss Esta Yeager  of this city;  Charles Yeager  of Waldron and  Mrs. Maude Jewett  of St. Paul.  There are four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
          Funeral services will be held at the Carmony Funeral Home in this city Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. O.J. McMullen in charge. Interment will be at the VanPelt cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home.

Long Illness Is Fatal To Shelby County Native

          Mrs. Alma Yeager, 72, wife of  O. P. Yeager, died shortly after non today at her home at 203 W. Braodway.  She had been in ill health for the past two years.
          Mrs. Yeager was the daughter of  Amos and Clementine (Black) Phares and was born in Shelby county on November 1, 1875.  Her marriage to Mr. Yeager took place on April 6, 1910.  He survives with four brothers, Esta,  H. O.  and  Taylor Phares, of this city, and  Charles Phares, of Manilla.
          Mrs. Yeager was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Woman's Club.

Rites Sunday for Miss Nora F. Yeager, 60

          Miss Nora F. Yeager, age sixty, former resident of Waldron, died at the Odd Fellows Home in Greensburg Friday evening at 6:20 o’clock after a short illness.
          Before going to the Home on November 19, 1945, Miss Yeager had resided in Waldron for 20 years.  Prior to that time her home had been in Blue Ridge where she was born on February 7, 1866, the daughter of  S. H. and Melvina Jarrell Yeager.  She was the eldest of eight children.
          Miss Yeager was a member of the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church and the Charity Rebekah lodge at Waldron.  She is survived by four brothers and two sisters,  O. P.  and  A. L. Yeager, this city;  Charles Yeager, Waldron and  H. C. Yeager,  Miss Esta Yeager, of this city, and  Mrs. E. D. [Maude] Jewett, of St. Paul.
          Funeral services were held at the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. O. J. McMullen, former pastor of the Blue Ridge Church officiated for the last rites and burial was made in the Blue Ridge cemetery in charge of D. E. Carmony of St. Paul.  Members of the Waldron Rebekah lodge participated in the graveside rites.

SAMUEL  YEAGER  FUNERAL  FRIDAY

Aged Resident Was Last Charter Member
of Blue Ridge Odd Fellows

          Samuel H. Yeager, widely known resident of this county, died last knight at his home in Blue Ridge at the age of 90 years and 7 months.  He was a member of the G.A.R. and was the last charter member of the Blue Ridge lodge of Odd Fellows, having been a member for 27 years.
          Mr. Yeager was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania October 3, 1835.  He was married in [February 23] 1865 to Miss [Nancy] Melvina Jarrell  who died in [May 6] 1888.  In 1861, he joined Company K of the 43rd Regiment at Rockville, Indiana, and served in the army three years.  He was a member of Dumont Post, No. 18, of the G.A.R.
          Surviving Mr. Yeager are seven children,  Harley,  Nora  and  Charlie Yeager, at home;  Otto,  Art  and  Miss Esta Yeager  of Shelbyville, and  Mrs. E. D. [Maude] Jewett, of St. Paul; and two half-sisters,  Mrs. Nancy Peck, of Rushville, and  Mrs. Emma Graham  who lives near Madison.
          Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Christian Union church at Blue Ridge.  The Rev. D. J. McMullen and the Rev. Thornsley will conduct the services with members of the G.A.R. and Odd Fellows assisting.  Burial will be in the Blue Ridge cemetery. R. T. Stewart is in charge.

O B I T U A R Y.

          William C. Yager  was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, Nov. 4, 1833, and died at his late residence in Blue Ridge Sunday, Aug. 23, at 2:30 p.m., aged 69 years, nine months and 19 days.  At the age of 16 he came to Indiana, where he has since made his home.  At the age of 20 he engaged in the saw mill business and later in the manufacture of tile.  Afterward he engaged in the general mercantile business, which he continued for 27 years, retiring two years ago on account of ailing health.
          He was appointed postmaster at Blue Ridge in May, 1871, and continued to serve 20 years.  He was a charter member of Blue River Lodge of Odd-fellows and has served them as treasurer continuously since their organization.
          He was married to  Elizabeth Stafford,  of this county, in June, 1859, who with four brothers and two sisters and the community at large mourn his departure.
          The funeral services will be held at the house, Tuesday, at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Loren Tillison, Blue Ridge Lodge I.O.O.F. will have charge.  Interment in Blue Ridge cemetery, D.B. Wilson & Son have charge.

          Joseph A. Yager  died at his home in Union township at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, October 7, of lung trouble, age 46 years.  Funeral services will be held in the Christian church in Ray's Crossing at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, Rev. G. W. Hagens officiating.  Interment in the Bennett grave yeard in charge of Marshall G. Tindall.
