Shelby County Indiana History & Genealogy, Cemeteries

I visited the genealogy department of the Shelbyville-Shelby County Public Library last week to research James Hamilton (b.1775 South Carolina d.1855 Shelby County, Indiana). I was very pleased with the resources available. I also visited two cemeteries. The library staff provided very good directions to Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren Township and to Ruggles Cemetery in Moral Township.
A lot of the stones in Fairview Cemetery were knocked over, due to a number of trees being cut down. I guess there's no graceful way to cut trees out of a cemetery, and I hope the stones are put back upright very soon. However, it was very discouraging to see.
