Be It Known, That on the 16th day of August A.D., 1852, personally appeared in the Shelby Circuit Court before the Clerk thereof,
John Hamilton Jr an alien, and reports himself for Naturalization, and being duly sworn on oath declares that he is a native of Ireland aged about twenty one years, and owes allegiance to the Queen of Great Britian that he emigrated thence, embarked at Londonderry and arrived at New York in the United States, on the day of June A.D., 1848, and that is bona fide his intention to reside in and become A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever All Allegiance and Fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State of Sovereignty whatever; and particularly to Victoria Queen of Great Britian and Ireland.
Sworn and subscribed the 16th day of August 1852.
In Testimony Whereof, I Jacob Vernon Clerk of the Shelby Circuit Court, hereunto set my name and the seal of said Court the above date.

William S. Hamilton an alien, and reports himself for Naturalization, and being duly sworn on oath declares that he is a native of Scotland aged about 26 years, and owes allegiance to Great Britian that he emigrated thence, embarked at Berwick in Scotland and arrived at Buffalow in the United States; on the 2d day of May A.D., 1850, and that it is bona fide his intention to reside in and become A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever All Allegiance And Fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever; and particularly to Victoria Queen of Great Britian.
Sworn and subscribed the 26th day of August 1852.
