             This Indenture made and entered into this 9th day of July 1836 between George W. Means and Hannah his wife of Washington county and state of Kentucky of the one part and Jack Hardin of the county and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said George W. Means for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Jack Hardin his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of Shelby and state of Indiana it being the east half of the South East Quarter of section Number twenty five in township eleven North of Range seven East of lands sold in the district of Indianapolis containing eighty acres. Together will all and singular the appurtanances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed unto the said Jack Hardin his heirs and assigns forever. And the said George W. Means for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and appurtanances unto the said Jack Hardin his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons doth and will forever warrant and defend by these presents. In testimony whereof the said George W. Means together with Hannah his wife who hereby relinquishes her Right of Dower in and to the lands conveyed in this deed hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

and County of Washingtion             Sct             I  William B. Barker Clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that on this the 18th day of July 1836 this Indenture of Bargain and sail from George W. Means and Hannah his wife To Jack Hardin was produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said Grantors to be their act and deed. And the said Hannah’s having been examined by me seperate and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely and willingly seal and deliver the said writing and wished not to Retract it and acknowledged the same again shown and explained to her to be her act and deed and consented that the same might be certified to all whom it may concern for Record at proper place which is done accordingly at the request of the within grantor. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of my office at Springfield Washington County Kentucky this 14th day of July 1836 and the 44th year of the Commonwealth.

Washington County ss I Lloyd Ray eldest and Presiding Magistrate within and for the county of Washington do certify that William B. Barker whose name is affixed to the above foregoing certificate is & was at the time of signing the same clerk of the Washington county court and that full faith and credit is due and ought to be given to all his official acts as such & that his certificate is in due form of law. Given under my hand this 9th day of August 1836.
