            This Indenture made the eighteenth day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty five between Samuel Harvey and Hannah Harvey his wife of the county of Shelby and state of Indiana of the one part and Harvey Pope of the county and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel Harvey for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Harvey Pope the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed and doth by these presents grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Harvey Pope his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land in the county of Shelby aforesaid it being the  south East Quarter of the North West Quarter of section Number twelve in township Number eleven North of Range six East  containing forty acres be the same more or less. Together with all the appurtanances thereunto belonging and the reversions remainders and profits thereof and all the estate title and Interest of the said Samuel Harvey in and to the same To have and to hold the premises aforesaid with all the appurtanances to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Harvey Pope his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Samuel Harvey for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said Harvey Pope his heirs and assigns that he the said Samuel Harvey is Lawfully seized in fee of the premises aforesaid that they are free from all encumbrance and that he has good right to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid. And further that he and his heirs executors and administrators shall and will warrant and defend the said premises to the said Harvey Pope his heirs and assigns against the Lawful claims of himself and his heirs and also against the Lawful claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever. And the said Hannah Harvey the wife of the said Samuel Harvey doth hereby relinquish all her right and title of Dower of and in the premises aforesaid. In witness whereof the said Samuel Harvey and Hannah Harvey his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written

Shelby County    To Wit:

            Be it remembered that the within named Samuel Harvey and Hannah Harvey his wife came this day personally before me the undersigned a justice of the peace in and for the county of Shelby aforesaid and acknowledged that they signed & sealed the within indenture as their act and deed for the purposes therein specified And the said Hannah being by me duly examined seperate and apart from her said husband and the contents of the said Indenture being made known to her declared that she relinquished all her right and title to Dower in and to the Lands and tenements in the within indenture set forth and described and that she voluntarily and of her own free will and accord and without any coercion or compulsion of her husband signed and sealed the within indenture as her act and deed for the purposes aforesaid. Given under my hand seal this 28^th day of Dec A.D. 1836.
