This
Indenture made this the Ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and thirty six between John Runyun and Elizabeth
Runyun his wife of the county of Shelby and state of Indiana of the one part
and Peter Hagarman of the county and state aforesaid of the other part
Witnesseth that the said John Runyun for and in consideration of the sum of One
hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Peter Hagarman the
receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold conveyed
and confirmed and doth by these presents grant bargain sell convey and confirm
unto the said Peter Hagarman his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or
parcel of land in the county of Shelby aforesaid it being the East half of
the North West Quarter of section Number seventeen in Township Number Eleven
North of Range Number six East containing Eighty acres be the same
more or less Together with all the appurtanances thereunto belonging and all the
reversions remainders and profits thereof and all the estate title and Interest
of the said John Runyun in and to the same To have and to hold the premises
aforesaid with all the appurtanances to the only proper use benefit and behoof
of the said Peter Hagarman his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John
Runyun for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and
agree to and with the said Peter Hagarman his heirs and assigns that he the said
John Runyun is lawfully seized in fee of the premises aforesaid that they are
free from all encumbrance and that he has good right to sell and convey the same
in manner and form aforesaid. And further that he and his heirs executors and
administrators shall and will warrant and defend the said premises to the said
Peter Hagarman his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of himself and
his heirs and also against the lawful claim or claims of all and every other
person or persons whatsoever. And the said Elisabeth Runyun the wife of the said
John Runyun doth hereby relinquish all her right & title of Dower of and in
the premises aforesaid. In witness whereof the said John Runyun and Elisabeth
Runyun his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above
written.

Be it
remembered that the within named John Runyun and Elizabeth Runyun his wife came
this day personally before me John Cutsinger a Justice of the peace in and for
said county and acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the within
Indenture as their act and deed for the purposes therein specified. And the said
Elisabeth Runyun Being of full age and being by me duly examined seperate and
apart from her said husband and the contents of the said Indenture being made
known to her declared that she relinquished all her right and title of Dower in
and to the lands and tenements in the within Indenture set forth and described
and that she voluntarily and of her own free will and accord and without any
coercion or compulsion of her husband signed sealed and delivered the within
Indenture as her act and deed for the purposes aforesaid
Given under my hand and seal at my office in the county of Shelby aforesaid this
the Ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
thirty six.
