Deed  From  John  M  Young

This indenture, made this fifteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty, by and between John M. Young and Nancy Young, his wife, of the county of Shelby and in the State of Indiana, of the one part, and William Little, Milton Robins, John S. Campbell, Isaac Sorden and William Brown, trustees in trust for the use and purpose hereinafter mentioned, all of the county of Shelby, in the State of Indiana, aforesaid; of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said John M. Young and Nancy Young, his wife, for and in the consideration of the sum of one dollar paid to them in hand, paid at and upon the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt therof is hereby acknowledged, having given, grants, bargain, sold, released, confirmed and conveyed unto them the said William Little, Milton Robins, John S. Campbell, Isaac Sorden and William Brown and their successors in office (trustees in trust for the uses and purposes hereinafter mentioned
and declared) all the estate, right, title, interest, property claimed and demand whatsoever either in law or equity, which he, the said John M. Young and Nancy Young, have into or upon all the singular, a certain lot or piece of land situate, lying and being in the town of Shelbyville, in Shelby county and State of Indiana aforesaid bounded and butted as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the southwest corner of lot number one, on Washington street, in the town of Shelbyville, Shelby county, Indiana, thence running east sixty feet, thence north ninety-nine feet, thence west sixty feet and thence south ninety-nine feet, to the place of beginning, together with all and singular houses, ways, privileges and appurtainences thereto belonging or in anywise pertaining, to have and to hold, all and singular, the above mentioned and described lot or pieces of land situate, lying and being as aforesaid, together with all and signular the houses, ways and privileges thereto belonging, or in anywise appertaining unto them, the said trustees as aforesaid, and their successors in office forever, in trust, that they shall erect and build, or cause to be erected and built thereon, the house or place of worship for the use of the members of the Methodist Episcopal church in the United States of America, according to the rules and discipline, which from time to time, may be agreed upon and adopted by the ministers and preachers of the said church at the general conferences in the United States of America, and in further trust and confidence that they shall at times forever hereafter, permit such ministers and preachers belonging to the said church, as shall from time to time be duly authorized by the general conferences of the ministers and preachers of the said Methodist Episcopal church, or by the annual conferences authorized by the said general conference to preach and expound God's holy word therein, and the said John Young doth, by these presents, warrant and forever defend all and singular, the before mentioned and described lot or parcel of land, with the appurtainences thereto belonging, under them to the said Wm. Little, Milton Robins, John S. Campbell, Isaac Sorden and William Brown, and their successors in office, forever, chosen and appointed from time to time according to the rules and discipline of the above said discipline of the aforesaid Methodist Episcopal church, from the claim or claims of him, the aforesaid John M. Young, his heirs and assigns, and from the claim or claims of all persons whosoever. In testament whereof, the said John M. Young and Nancy Young, his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year aforesaid.

          Be it remembered that on the fifteenth day of June, A.D. one thousand, eight hundred and fifty, personally appeared before me, one of the associate judges for and in the County of Shelby, in the State of Indiana, the within named John M. Young, the grantor, and acknowledged the within deed of trust to be his act and deed for the uses and purposes therein
mentioned, and declared this fifteenth day of June in the year one thousand, eight hundred and fifty.
