            This indenture made this 24th day of June 1841 between Alexander Vanpelt and Abraham Ogden overseers of the poor for Noble township Shelby County Indiana of the one part and William Mitchell of the other part witnesseth that said overseers as aforesaid doth put place and bind Henry Rathburn aged nine years the tenth of October 1841 untill he is twenty one years old to said William Mitchell to be by said Mitchell taught the business of farming in all its branches and said William as aforesaid doth bind himself to clothe bord and take care of the said Henry as aforesaid in a kind and parential manner and said William as aforesaid doth bind himself to school said Henry as aforesaid until he said Henry shall receive a good common Education. As witness our hands and seals the day and year above written signed sealed and delivered in presents of Harvey Vanpelt
