This
indenture made this 24th day of June 1841 between Abraham Ogden and Alexander
Vanpelt overseers of the poor for Noble township Shelby County Indiana of
the one part and George Rothburn of the same place of the other part
witnesseth that the said overseers as aforesaid doth put place and bind John
Rothburn a minor aged four years old in the month of April 1841 to George
Rothburn for the term of Twelve years from the month of April 1841 to be by said
George Rothburn taught the farming business in all its branches and the said
George as aforesaid doth bind himself to clothe feed and take cair of the said
John as aforesaid in a kind and parential mannar for the term of years above
mentioned and said George as aforesaid doth bind himself to school the said John
as aforesaid untill he the said John shall receave a common Education as
witness our hands and seals the day and year above written
