Jesse King’s Last Will and Testament
Know all men by these presents that I Jesse King of Franklin Township Marion County and State of Indiana do declare this to be my last will and testament. It is my will will that my sorrell mare and my colt shal be sold and the money for them be applyed to my debts and the balance of the price of them if any be shall go to my Wife Louisinda King likewise it is my will she shall have the other two horses of mine and all the farming utentials and all my grain in the ground and all I now have and all the househould and Kitchen furniture and her Choice of two of the milk cows and four sheep and hogs to make her meet for one for one year the property that I hereunto will my wife Lussida King She shall have her lifetime and at her death it is my will that it shall be sold and the price of it be equally divided amonst my Children with the esceptions of my son James King shall have the thrd Choice of one of my cows and that my son Jesse King shall have the fourth Choice of one of my cows and one sow and pigs and my dughter Almira King shall have the siseth Choice of one of my heifers and my daughter Melinda Burnett shall have the Eight Choice of one of my heifers and my son Colonel King shall have one colt within the bounds of three years from this time and I here will to Jeptha King the bay horse that he has in his possesion and likewise the heifer he has in his possesion And I will my Lusinda King the farm on which we live during her life time and at her death it is my will that the farm then be sold and the money of the price of it to be equally divided amonst all my children and the two lots of mine lying in the Village of Pleasent View Shelby County and State of Indiana shall be sold and the money to be equally divided amongst my said children choosing Joseph Pierson my Executor this will made and ______ Concluded this twenty ninth day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty six in presents of us

The State of Indiana Maron County SS
Personally appeard before the Clerk of the Probate Court of the County aforesaid Alexander Joyce and Thomas Parish and Joseph Pierson who being duly sworn before said Court upon his oath says that Jesse King signed sealed published and declared the above and within instrument on the day of the date therof to be his Last Will and Testament such sining being by making his mark to his name which was written thereto by an other person that said Jesse King was at that time of the full age of Twenty One years of sound mind and memory and not under coursion and restraint that he subscribed his name as witness to said Last will in the Presence and at the request of said testater and in the Presence of the witnesses thereto
