Will  of
Alfred   L.  Shutt



          I,  Alfred L. Shutt,  a resident of the City of Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana, do hereby make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking any and all other wills by me heretofore made.

          Item 1.  I direct that as soon as possible after my decease all of my Just debts and Funeral expenses be paid out of my estate, by my Executor hereinafter named.

          Item 2.  It is my will and I do hereby order and direct that my Executor hereinafter named, shall purchase and have placed upon my lot in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville Indiana, near the head of my grave, a suitable Monument, to cost not to exceed One Hundred Dollars, upon which shall be inscribed my name, the date of my birth, viz; "April 15th, 1851"; and the date of my death.

          I direct that there shall also be inscribed upon said monumnet the name of my sister,  Ella Parrish,  who is now deceased and buried upon my said lot, together with the date of her birth and the date of her death.

          Item 3.  I give devise and bequeath to my brother, Charles Shutt the horse and wagon, and the Gold watch and chain now owned by me to have and to hold as his undivided property, forever.

          Item 4.  After the payment of all of my just debts and funeral expenses as provided for in item one above and the purchase of the monument as provided for in item two above, and the compliance with the bequest as proivided for in item three above, I give, devise and bequeath all of the residue of my estate, which shall remain to the children of my deceased sister, Ella Parrish to be divided among them share and share alike.

          Item 5.  It is my will and I do hereby order and direct that upon my decease my friend  Harry Hageman,  shall take charge of my body as the undertaker, and shall burry it upon my lot in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, Indiana and thus in the burial of my body he shall use a cement vault within which to place the casket containing my said body.

          Item 6.  I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend  General S. Campbell,  as the Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

          Signed, sealed and acknowledged by the said Alfred Shutt as his last Will and Testament in our presence and signed by us as attesting witnesses thereto, at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other this February 26th 1914.

          Be It Remembered, that on the 9th day of March A. D. 1914 the 31st Judicial day of the February Term of the Shelby Circuit Court in said year, come into open Court General S. Campbell and produces in Court an instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Alfred Shutt deceased and now moves the admittance thereof to probate and record and in proof of said Will introduces Fred Krebs one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court, on oath, declare and testify as following, that is to say: That on the 26th day of February 1914, he saw the said Alfred Shutt sign his name to said instrument in writing as and for his last Will and Testament, and that this deponent at the same time heard the said Alfed Shutt declare the said instrument in writing to be his last Will and Teatament, and that the said instrument in writing was at the same time, at the request of the said Alfred Shutt, and with his consent attested and subscribed by the said Fred Krebs and L. E. Youngman in the presence of said testator and in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses thereto, and that the said Alfred Shutt was at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing, as aforesaid of full age (that is, more than twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint, as the said deponent verily believes and further deponent says not.

          Whereupon it is ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that said instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will of Alfred Shutt, deceased, is the last Will and Testament of Alfred Shutt deceased and is hereby admitted to probate and record in this Court.

          I, Otto L. Coyle Clerk of the Circuit Court of Shelby County Indiana, do hereby certify that the within annexed Will and Testament of Alfred Shutt has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of Fred Krebs one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, that a complete record of said Will and of the testimony of the said Fred Krebs in proof thereof, has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 6 at pages 441-442-443 of the record of wills of said County.
          In Attestation Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said Court at Shelbyville Indiana this 9th day of March 1914.
