Will of
Anna L. Fix
I, Anna L. Fix, of Shelbyville, Indiana, being of sound mind and of disposing memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in the manner and form following, to-wit:
Item 1. I will and direct that all of my just debts, funeral expenses and the expenses of administration of my estate be paid by my executor and for the purpose of paying said debts, I will and direct that my executor, hereinafter named, shall sell the real estate which I now own, being the house and lot located at 922 Elm Street in the City of Shelbyville, Indiana, and that the same be sold at private sale to the best advantage under the supervision and order of the Shelby Circuit Court of Shelby County, Indiana.
Item 2. I will and bequeath to my beloved son, Chester E. Phillips, the piano now owned by me and my watch and chain.
Item 3. I will and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Ola L. Varies, my sewing machine and my gold ring as a keepsake.
Item 4. I will and bequeath to my namesake, Anna Louise James, the amount realized and obtained from a life insurance policy which I now hold in the Prudential Life Insurance Company of America.
Item 5. I will and direct that all the residue of my estate, both real and personal, remaining after the payment of the bequests and charges made in the foregoing items of this will be divided equally between my two children, Ola L. Varies and Chester E. Phillips share and share alike. It is my will that none of my household furniture be sold, that the same be divided between my said two children, Ona L. Varies and Chester E. Phillips equally.
Item 6. I hereby name and appoint my son, Chester E. Phillips as executer of this my last will and testament, and will and direct that my said executer employ J. Oscar Hall as his attorney in the settlement of my estate under this will I will and direct that my said son Chester E. Phillips shall serve as executer of this will without compensation for his services as such executer.
Item 7. I hereby revoke each and all former wills by me made at any time made, and particularly a certain will dated March 10, 1915.
In witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of February 1917, in the presence of Ella Yater and Hazel Ennis, who I have requested to become attesting witnesses hereto.

The foregoing instrument and will was this day signed by Anna L. Fix and declared by her to be her last will and testament in our presence and in the presence of each other, and we at the same time, and at her request, and in her presence, and in the presence of each other do hereby affix our signatures as attesting witnesses, this the 2nd day of February 1917.

Be it remembered that on the 9th day of February, A.D., 1917, the 35 judicial day of the January Term of the Shelby Circuit Court in said year, came into open court Chester Phillips and produces in court an instrument in writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Anna L. Fix deceased, and now move the admittance thereof to probate and record, and as proof of said will introduces Ella Yater the subscribing witness thereof who being duly sworn by the Clerk of the said Court, on oath declares and testifies as follows, that is to say: That on the 2nd day of February 1917, she saw the said Anna L. Fix declare the said instrument in writing to be her last will and Testament, and that the said instrument in writing was, at the same time, at the request of the said Anna L. Fix and with her consent attested and subscribed by the said Ella Yater and Hazel Ennis in the presence of said testator, in the presence of each other, as subscribing witnesses thereto, and that the said Anna L. Fix was, at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing, asforesaid, of full age (that is more than twenty-one years of age) and sound and disposing mind and memory, and not under any coercion or restraint, as the said deponent verily believes, and further says not.

Whereupon it is ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that said instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will of Anna L. Fix, deceased, is the last Will and Testament of Anna L. Fix deceased, and is hereby admitted to probate and record in this Court.

I, Cecil B. Collins, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Shelby Count, Indiana, do hereby Certify that the within annexed will and Testament of Anna L. Fix has been duly admitted to probate, and duly proved by the testimony of Ella Yater, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, that a complete record of said will, and of the testimony of said Anna L. Fix, in proof thereof, has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 7 at Pages 200 and 201 of the record of Wills of said County.
In ATTESTATION WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name, and affixed the seal of said court, at Shelbyville, Indiana, this 9th day of February, 1917.
