Andrew Hensley
I, Andrew
Hensley of Marion County in the State of Indiana do make and publish
this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making nil all former wills
by me at any time heretofore made.
Item 1. I direct that my body be decently interred and that my funeral be
conducted in a manner corresponding with my Estate and situation in life and as
by such worldly estate and has pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of
the same in the following manner to wit: I direct that first of all my
just debts and funeral expenses by paid as soon after my decease as possible and
of the first moneys that should come to the hands of Executors from my portion
of my estate real or personal. I also direct that a fair valuation or
appraisement by made by three [?] neighbors of all my said Estate including my
household furniture and after being signed with their names that a copy of the
same be given by them to each of my Executors and to effectuate this my
intention. I hereby vest my widow with full and ample manner and with
power to collect a rears by law and receive any money coming to me is as
full and complete manner in every respect as I could myself do if living.
I also direct that the whole of my household furniture be and remain the
absolute property of my wife if she shall be living at the time of my decease
but if she should not survive me then that the same shall be given and
distributed equally between my and my wifes children share and share alike and
to be apportioned by three impartial neighbors mutually chosen by said heirs for
that purpose. I also direct that the moneys which is coming to me be laid
out for lands for the use of my wife and children and that my wife is to have
all the use benefit and profits of said land during her life and after her
decease to be equally divided between my seven[?] children and to share alike
and I hereby make and ordain my worthy and esteemed friend James Sharp
Executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof

From probate records in
Marion County, Indiana, we know that Andrew's estate was opened in September of
1842.
