Last Will and Testament of
Nancy Odell
In the name of the Benevolent Father of all, I Nancy Odell of Shelby
County and State of Indiana, being of sound mind and disposing memory, make
and publish this my last will and testament.
First, I give and devise to my daughter, Dicy Odell, the one acre Lot and
house in which I now live and own in the fee simple and all the buildings
thereon, and all the furniture and household goods belonging thereto as her
part of my estate. The reason I bequeath this part of my estate to my
daughter Dicy is that she has no other home and my four other daughters have
homes and three of them have husbands with whom they live.
Second: I give and devise to my daughter Jffie Williams, twenty acres
situated on the South side of the twenty acres I have deeded to my daughter
Virginia Ann Milner. This land of twenty acres is one hundred and sixty rods
East and West and being twenty rods North and South, and joining to the
twenty acres immediately North that I have deeded to my daughter Virginia Ann
Milner.
Third: I give and devise to my daughter Isabella Smith the next twenty acres
being the length and breadth of the twenty acres I have given and devised to
my daughter Jffie Williams, and being situated and joining the South side of
the same.
Fourth Item: I give and devise to my daughter Valdora Milner, the twenty
acres immediately South of and joining the twenty acres I have given and
devised to my daughter Isabell Smith and being the length and width of the
aforesaid twenty acres, one hundred and sixty rods East and West and being
twenty rods in width North and South. I have deeded the same amount of real
Estate to my daughter Virginia Ann Milner the foregoing real Estate that I
have given and devised was the same real Estate deeded to me by husband
William Odell deceased.
Fifth I nominate and appoint my nephew William A. Fields my Executor.
I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.

Signed and acknowledged by said Nancy Odell, as her last will and testament
in our presence and signed by us in her presence.

"A Codicil"
The following is a Codicil to the above and foregoing will made this the
15th day of November 1893. The day and year first above written. As I have
nominated and appointed my nephew Willard H. Fields my executor to see that
this my last will and testament is legally probated and fully executed, I
give and devise that he shall have the right, authority and forever, to
collect the necessary amount of money from from the sixty acres of land that
I have given and devised this day to my three daughters, Jffie Williams,
Isabella Smith and Valdora Milner provided my said executor cannot find money
enough of my Estate to pay my funeral claims to proceed and collect enough of
money to pay my funeral expenses by selling as otherwise, the necessary
amount to pay said expense, and also to collect money from the same source to
pay any and all other debts that may come against the said testratrix Estate.

Signed and acknowledged of said Nancy Odell as her last will and testament,
in our presence and signed by us in her presence.

Personally came Robert N. Smith and Frank L. Imel and being duly sworn
and say that they are now and have been for several years residents of
Brandywine Township, Shelby County, Indiana, and that they were personally
acquainted with Nancy Odell in her lifetime who recently died in the month
of September, 1911, a resident in Brandywine Township, Shelby County,
Indiana, a resident in Brandywine Township, Shelby County, Indiana having
real and personal property in said county, that the attached will of the said
Nancy Odell executed on the 15th day of November, 1893 and the codicil
thereto both of which were attested by Daniel T. Culbertson and Willard H.
Fields, as attesting witnesses is attached to this affidavit and made a part
hereof. Both of said affiants say that Daniel T. Culbertson and said Willard
H. Fields are now dead. The affiant Robert W. Smith says: That he is
acquainted with the handwriting of Daniel T. Culbertson and has seen him
write and sign his name and that the signatures attached to said will and
said codicil are the genuine signatures of said Daniel T. Culbertson and the
affiant Frank L. Imel says that he is acquainted with the signature of
Willard H. Fields and has seen him write his signature and has his signatures
in this possession at this time and that the signatures of said Fields to
both said will and codicil are the genuine signatures of said Fields.
