Will of
Newton D. Robins
In the name of the benevolent Father of all. I Newton D. Robins
of Shelby County Indiana, do make this my last Will and testament.
Item 1. I will and direct that all of my Just debts and
funeral expenses be first paid out my estate.
Item 2. I Will and devise and bequeath all of the money,
notes, mortgages, accounts or other Credits of which I shall be possessed at my
decease or the proceeds thereof after collected as follows, one third
thereof to my son John E. Robins, one third thereof to my
daughter Fannie Powell, and one third thereof to the children
of my deceased son Sylvan B. Robins to wit: Harry D.
Robins, Frank C. Robins and Martha Robins,
share and share alike.
Item 3. I Will devise and bequeath all the residue of my
personal Estate to my son, John E. Robins and my
daughter Fannie Powell share and share alike.
Item 4. I hereby Will and direct that any and all monies that
I may after the date of this my last Will give to either of my Grand
Children, Harry D. Robins, Frank C. Robins or Martha
Robins shall be chargeable to them as a part of the bequest made to them
in and by item 2 of this my last Will and testament and such amounts shall by
deducted from their shares in my Estate under this my will by executor upon
final Settlement of my Estate.
Item 5. I hereby direct my executor to deliver
to the heirs of my deceased son Sylvan B. Robins as fully
paid and Satisfied all notes and accounts held by me against my said son, the
same together with all advancements made by me to my said son, in his lifetime
having been equalized and settled in the division of any Real Estate heretofore
made by deeds executed by me and my wife to my son John E. Robins
my daughter Fannie Powell and my three Grand children Harry
D. Robins, Frank C. Robins and Martha Robins
Item 6. I hereby nominate and appoint Harry
C. Whitcomb of Shelbyville Indiana as Executor of this my last Will
and testament.
Item 7. I hereby revoke all former wills by me at
anytime heretofore made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 4" day of
August 1891.

Testament in our presence and signed by us as attesting Witnesses thereto in his
presence and in the presence of each other this 4" day of August 1891.

Codicell. I N. D. Robins of Shelbyville Indiana do make this
my Codicil hereby confirming my last Will made on the 4: day of August A.D. 1891
so far as this Codicil is consistent then with and do hereby direct that a
Granite monument that shall cost between five and six hundred dollars be placed
on my lot in the Shelbyville City Cemetery of such form finish and inscriptions
as my children may elect. this codicil is intended to be an addition to
item (1) one of above named will.
Signed and acknowledged by the Said Newton D Robins as his Codicil to will of
August 4" 1891 , in our presence as attesting witnesses thereto in his
presence this 12" day of April AD. 1892.

Be it remembered that on the 15" day of August AD 1895, Milton B.
Thrasher, one of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing last will
and testament of Newton D. Robins, late of Said County deceased personally
appeared before Clerk of the Circuit Court of Shelby County in the State of
Indiana and being duly sworn by the Clerk of said court upon his oath declared
and testified as follows: that is to say: that on the 4" day of
August 1891, he saw the said Newton D. Robins sign his name to Said instrument
in writing as and for his last Will and testament and that this deponent at the
same time heard the said Newton D. Robins declare the said instrument in writing
to be his last Will and testament and that the said instrument in writing was at
the same time at the request of the said Newton D. Robins, and with his consent
attested and Subscribed by the said Milton B. Thrasher and H C Morrison in the
presence of said testator and in the presence of each other as subscribing
witnesses thereto and that the said Newton D. Robins was at the time of the
signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing as aforesaid of full
age (that is more than Twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind
and memory, and not under any coercion or restraint as the said deponent Verily
believes.
That the said testator departed this life at Shelby Co. Indiana on the 12"
day of August 1895, and further deponent says not.

hereby certify that the within annexed will and testament of Newton D. Robins
has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of Milton B.
Thrasher, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, that a complete record of
said will and of the testimony of the said deponent in proof thereof has been by
me duly made and recorded in book 3 at pages [225, 226, 227 and 228]
of the record of wills of said county.
In attestation Whereof I have
hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said court at Shelbyville
this 15" day of August 1895.

will and testament of Newton D Robins late of said County deceased, personally
appeared before the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Shelby County in the State of
Indiana and being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court upon his oath declared
and testified as follows -- that is to say, that on the 12" day of April
1892 he saw the said Newton D. Robins sign his name to said instrument in
writing as and for a Codicill to his last will and testament and that this
deponent at the same time heard the said Newton D Robins declare the said
instrument in writing to be his last will and testament and his codicil thereto
and that the said Codicil was at the same time at the request of the said Newton
D. Robins and with his consent attested and subscribed by the said Robert L.
Morris and William T. Patterson in the presence of said testator and in the
presence of each other as subscribing witnesses thereto and that the said Newton
D. Robins was at the time of the signing and subscribing of said Codicil as
aforesaid of full age (that is more than Twenty one years of age) and of sound
and disposing mind and memory and not under any coercion of restraint as the
said deponent Verily believes. That said testator departed this life in
Shelby County Ind one the 12" day of August 1895, and further deponent says
not.
