Last  Will  and  Testament
of
Sarah  E. Peterson


          I  Sarah E. Peterson, at this time a resident of Shelby County, Indiana, do hereby make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former will by me heretofore made.

          Item One. It is my will and I hereby direct my executor hereinafter named, as soon after my death as is practical to pay and discharge all of my Just and legal debts, including expenses of my last sickness and funeral.

          Item Two. I hereby direct my Executor hereinafter named to place with the Shelbyville Trust Company, to be held by said Company the sum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, the income derived therefrom to be expended in the care of my Cemetery lot in the Ogden Cemetery in said County.

          Item Three. I hereby direct my executor to place in the care of the Shelbyville Trust Company of Shelbyville, Indiana, the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) dollars, the said sum to be held in trust by said Company and the income derived therefrom together with said sum be used in the payment of the expenses of the last sickness and funeral of my brother  John Groll  and if any part of said sum remains, such remainder to be equally divided among my three sisters hereinafter named.

          Item Four.  I hereby give the following named persons the following named articles.
          To  Albert Grizzle, the Gold watch formerly owned by my husband Jacob Peterson.
          To  Elizabeth Grizzle, old Gold watch, long Gold chain and Fob.
          To  Eliza Williams, short Gold chain and green chain, green pin and cameo Ring.
          To  Katherine Hildreth  small Gold watch and beads of rose petals.
          To  Robert Grizzle  “Gold dollar”
          To  Mary Katherine Hall  “Gold dollar”
          To  Stella Hall  Gold beads and cross.
          To  Ray Bevis  Ring formerly owned by Jacob Peterson
          To  Harry Newton  Gold ring formerly owned by Margaret Newton
          To  Charles Bennett – Piano

          Item Five.  It is my will and I hereby direct my Executor as soon after my death as is practical to sell all the rest of my property both real and personal, including diamond ring, china and furniture and convert the same into cash. The said property to be sold under the proper order of the Shelby Circuit Court and after paying all of my debts and expenses provided in item one and providing for the funds mentioned in items two and three above and the expenses incident to the settlement of my estate divide the remaining sum resulting from the sale of said property into three equal parts one third of shall be turned over and belong to my sister Elizabeth Grizzle, one third turned over to and belong to my sister Eliza Williams and the remaining one third turned over to and belong to my sister Katherine Hildreth.
          Item Five and One Half.  I desire  Will A. Yarling to act as attorney in the settlement of my estate.

          Item Six.  I hereby name Dr. J. E. Keesling the executor of this my last Will and Testament.
          And in Witness, of this my last Will and Testament, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th day of May 1914.

          In our presence and hearing this 19th day of May, 1914, Sarah E. Peterson to us well known signed the above and foregoing instrument and decreed the same to be her last Will and Testament, and we the undersigned in her presence and in the presence and hearing of each other and at her request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to and of said last Will and Testament this 19th day of May 1914

                    Be It Remembered that on the 3rd day of June A.D. 1914 the 27 Judicial day of the May Term of the Shelby Circuit Court in said year, came into open Court James E. Kesling and produces in Court an instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Sarah E. Peterson deceased and now moves the admittance thereof to probate and record, and in proof of said Will introduces Will A. Yarling one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court , on oath, declare and testify, as follows, that is to say. That on the 19th day of May 1914 he saw the said Sarah E. Peterson sign her name to said instrument in writing as and for her last Will and Testament; and that the deponent, at the same time, heard the said Sarah E. Peterson declare the said instrument in writing to be her last Will and Testament and that the said instrument in writing was, at the same time, at the request of the said Sarah E. Peterson, and with her consent attested and subscribed by the said Will A. yarling and Bella L. Watson, in the presence of said testator, and in the presence of each other, as subscribing witnesses thereto and that the said Sarah E. Peterson was, at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing as aforesaid, of full age (that is more than twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint as the said deponent verily believes, and further deponent says not.

          Sworn to and subscribed by the said Will A. Yarling before me Otto L. coyle Clerk of said County at Shelbyville Indiana the 3rd day of June 1914.

          Whereupon it is ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that said instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will of Sarah E. Peterson, deceased, is the last Will and Testament of Sarah E. Peterson, deceased and is hereby admitted to probate and record in this Court.

          I, Otto L. Coyle Clerk of the Circuit court of Shelby County Indiana, do hereby certify that the within annexed Will and Testament of Sarah E. Peterson, has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of Will A. Yarling one of the subscribing witnesses thereto that a complete record of said Will, and of the testimony of the said Will A. Yarling in proof thereof, has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 6 at pages 462-463-464-465 of the record of Wills of said County.
          In Attestation Whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said Court at Shelbyville Indiana this 3rd day of June 1914.
