In the Name of God Amen.
William Louden  of Shelby County and State of Indiana Being Sick and weak of Body. but of Sound and disposing Mind. do constitute this my last Will and Testatment in manner and form following
1   I Bequeath my Soul to God who gavest to me and my Body to the Easth. to be Decently buried by my firends and Executors. hereinafter named.  My will is that as much of my personal property be Sold as will be Sufficient to discharge and pay all my Just Debts.  and that the residue of my Personal Property together with my Lands remain and be for the Benefit and Support of my beloved Wife  Elizabeth Louden  and my Children   Namely  Daniel Louden.  Daniel Louden.  Emmily Louden.  Susan Louden  and  Sarah Louden.  During the lifetime and Widowhood of my said Wife  Elizabeth Louden.  It is further my wish and desire that She never Should marry and my reason for that is that no other man Should govern her.  Lastly  I Constitute and appoint  Nathan Goodrich  and  Thomas H. Fleming.  Executors of this my last will and Testament.  In testamony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of October  Eighteen Hundred and forty three

                          Before me Jacob Vernon Clerk of the Probate Court of Shelby County Shelby County personally appeared the above named Jonathan Thompson and being by me duly sworn says he saw and heard the above named William Louden Sign Seal publish and declare the above Instrument of writing to be his last will & testament that he was of sound mind and memory at the time of its execution and that he signed his name thereto and witness in presence of the testator and in presence of Leo H Worland the other subscribing witness thereto.  And at the request of the said testator
