          Mrs. Loretta Branson,  one of the most popular of the oder residents of the east part of the county, was given a big surprise dinner Sunday at her home in Rays Crossing in honor of her seventy-second birthday anniversary.  The even was attended by sixty friends and relatives of Mrs. Branson and she received many remembrances typical of their love and esteem.  Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas  and daughter,  Miss June  of this city, and  Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Talbert,  wet of the city, attended the dinner.

          A black and a dark brown mare were found running loose in the Square at two o'clock this morning and were put in  Branson & Law's Livery stable by  Merchant Policeman Williams.
