Good attendance and an interest that was
genuine marked the meeting held Wednesday evening at the Little Blue River
Baptist Church for the purpose of organizing a branch chapter of the Red Cross
for Union township, and arrangements were made for holding a meeting at the home
of Mrs. George Barlow in Rays Crossing next Tuesday at ten
o'clock.
In the election of
officers at the meeting Wednesday evening, J. C. Briley was named
president of the branch chapter, Mrs. George Barlow vice-president, Mrs.
Carey Towns secretary and Mrs. Sylvester Towns treasurer.
This evening a meeting
will be held at Waldron for the purpose of organizing a branch chapter for that
place and tomorrow evening a meeting will be held at Marietta to organize a
branch chapter for Hendricks township.
