HUSBAND LEFT HER IN FLORIDA

So Charges Mrs. Donna Clingenpeel
In Complaint For A Divorce Filed Here
----------
HAD THREATENED HER LIFE
----------
Sent into a tobacco shop in a strange town, many miles from her
home and friends to purchase some tobacco for her husband, and to find her
husband has gone when she emerged from the shop, was the experience of Mrs. Donna
Clingenpeel, of this city, according to her statement in a complaint for a
divorce which she has filed against Clarence Clingenpeel, in the Shelby
circuit court. Wray and Sullivan are attorneys representing Mrs. Clingenpeel.
The couple was married April 15, 1919, and separated December 13,
1922. Mr. and Mrs. Clingenpeel formerly lived at St. Paul. The wife says that
her husband struck and beat her. She says that she was compelled to use money
which she had received from the estate of her first husband, to support herself.
Mrs. Clingenpeel asserts that her husband knocked her across the stove, and that
he threatened to kill her. A former suit for a divorce which she had filed here,
was dismissed by the wife, after she says that her husband had promised to treat
her better.
She states that she and her husband left here last fall for an
automobile trip to Florida. Arriving in DeLand, she says that her husband sent
her into a store to buy some tobacco, and that when she came out he had driven
away in the machine. She asks that her former name of Donna Youngman
be restored
to her.
