WANTS HER FORMER NAME
----------
Mrs. Frieda Griffith, No. 201 East Jackson street, has filed a complaint for a divorce against Carl Griffith, in the Shelby Circuit Court. McDaniel and Myers are attorneys for the plaintiff. Mr. and Mrs. Griffith were married February 6, 1921, and separated one year later. The wife charges that her husband abandoned her. She states that he struck and beat her, and that he had failed to provide for her. The wife says that she had to go to the home of her father for food and clothing a part of the time.
The plaintiff asks that her former name of Frieda Berger be restored to her by the court.

Furious Females.
----------
Mrs. Lee Griffith, assisted by her son, and Katie Mulby, all of whom live in the dilapidatted old byuilding on East Pennsylvania street known as the "barracks," had a terrific fight yesterday evening, in which Katie seems to have come out second best, she having a black eye, and her antagonist showing no marks of the affray. The whole party were arraigned before acting Mayor Wright last night and the circus commenced. It was soon evident that Katie had, for once in her life, met her match, and the tongues of both women fairly flew. Katie called Mrs. Griffith everything but a lady, and Mrs. Griffith retorted in kind, and nothing but the threat of locking them both up at once secured quiet enough for Mayor Wright to be heard when he declared that he would assess each one a dollar, and suspend the fine during their good behavior.
