Mrs. Bell Harbin, 733 Third street, has filed a complaint in the
Shelby circuit court for a divorce from Marg Harbin. The complaint states that
the couple was married May 5, 1895 and have been separated since October 8,
1923. Mrs. Harbin is represented in the action by Cheney & Tolen, attorneys.
Charges of failure to provide, abandonment and cruel treatment are made by
Mrs. Harbin in the complaint. She states that she was compelled to work as a
domestic to get food and clothing. She also alleges that Mr. Harbin struck, beat
and kicked her, that he would not speak to her for days at a time and that he
threatened to kill one of her children by a former marriage.
