At 6:30 last night Rev. T. L. Hughes was called to the clerk's office to unite in marriage George O. Fielder and Mrs. Vinnie K. (Vance) Smith. The parties reside in Bloomington, Illinois and came to this city on the sly to be united in marriage. The groom is a traveling man, aged twenty-seven years, while the bride is one year older, and had been married before, her first husband now being dead. Mr. Fielder dropped a five with the minister and a lesser amount with the clerk and they departed leaving the city on the 10 o'clock train going west.
