MAN CONTEMPLATED SUICIDE

Chief of Police Manlove, Who Was Called, Diagnosed the Case as One of Plain Drunk
------------------------
Chief of Police Manlove was called at 3 o'clock this afternoon to take charge of Hardin D. Ingram,
a well-known business man of this city, as it was feared he intended to throw himself in Blue River near the end
of Elliott street. His actions alarmed the residents of that part of the city and when the chief arrived at the
scene of the excitement he found the man being guarded by half a dozen men. An investigation that required only a few brief seconds convinced the officer that Mr. Ingram was only badly intoxicated and he was placed in jail
to be slated on that charge.
