Keifer
The Shelbyville Republican
Monday, March 31, 1902
----------
Miss Katie Keifer, of Indianapolis, was struck by train No. 4, which arrives here at 7:52 a.m. and almost instantly killed this morning. Miss Keiger was a school teacher, and was on the way to her school, which is about a mile this side of Indianapolis when run down. She had just passed around a curve and the engineer could not see her until too late to stop, and on account of the strong wind she could not hear the whistle. She was recognized by a Miss Hoover, a friend and also a teacher.
