GREENSBURG  WOMAN  IS

Brought Against Shelby County
Farmer in Complaint
----------
Mrs. Margaret Linville, of Greensburg, was denied a divorce from Orla Linville, a farmer residing south of this city, at the hearing on her complaint in the Shelby circuit court today. Failure of Mrs. Linville to give sufficient damaging evidence against her husband caused her to lose this case and prevents her from refilling the complaint with the same charges for a period of two years.
The complaint was not contested by Mr. Linville and Mrs. Linville was represented by Myron C. Jenkins, ex-clerk of Decatur county and a former mayor of Greensburg. Mrs. Linville failed to show that her husband had been unkind or cruel and testimony was brought out to show that the had provided well for her needs. The trouble between the young couple seemed to be based on difficulties from living with his father.

Mr.  R. M.  Linville,  a former resident of Shelby county, writes as follows from Smithfield, Mo.,:  "As I am well and feeling good over the election, will write you a few lines. During the campaign we had quite a number of big rallies at Columbus and Carthage, Mo., and are now reaping the fruit of our labor.
We are going to ratify at Smithfield to-night and tomorrow night at Carthage and Joplin.
The Republicans are not asleep out here by a long pump, and we think in four years we will elect our Governor.  I was well pleased when I saw the name of my old schoolmate,  Jap  Carpenter,  among those that were successful on November 6. I will state that I witnessed the horrible scene near Pittsburg, Kansas, of that great explosion in a coal mine.  Some 112 were buried 112 feet down in the ground.  Thirty nine bodies were taken out up to the time I write. We have had plenty of rain and the growing wheat crop looks splendid."
