The Republicans of this county met in mass convention
Saturday afternoon, at the Morton Club rooms, for the purpose of selecting delegates to the State convention at
Fort Wayne. David L. Wilson was made chairman and Charles H. Tindall secretary. The following delegates were chosen: William Nading, James Barlow, Henry Weingarth, John McCain,
Edward Macy, George W. Markland, M. L. Jenkins, Milton Francis, James Buckingham, Robert
Hudgins, Granville Barnard, D. L. Wilson, T. C. Kennedy, E. Victor and Thomas Hudgins.
The delegates were instructed to vote for Ira Chase for Governor. A resolution was also adopted indorsing[sic]
the administration of President Harrison and favoring his renomination at Minneapolis.
