DIVORCE GRANTED

Josephine Mahley, of this city, was granted a divorce from Claude
Mahley by Judge Harry C. Morrison, in the Shelby Circuit Court Tuesday
afternoon. Her former name of Josephine Vangordon was restored to her by
the court.

Mrs. Josephine Mahley, No. 903 Meridian street, Shelbyville, has filed
a complaint for a divorce in the Shelby circuit court against Claude Mahley.
Cheney & Tolen are attorneys for the plaintiff.
The complaint states that the couple was married February 14, 1922, and
separated October 2, 1923. Mrs. Mahley says that on the day of their separation
her husband entered a plea of guilty in the Shelby Circuit Court to a charge of
passing worthless checks, and was sentenced to serve a term of from one to five
years in the Indiana Reformatory at Pendleton. She states that he is now held in
the state institution.
The wife asks for the restoration of her former name of Josephine
VanGordon.
