WILLIAM MAPLE FILED SUIT
FOR DIVORCE
----------
William Maple, of this city, has filed a complaint for a divorce in
the Shelby circuit court, against Mrs. Luella Maple. Elmer Bassett
represents the plaintiff. The complaint states that the couple was married
February 15, 1883, and separated on February 2, 1918. Mr. Maple alleges that his
wife abandoned him; that she refused to wash his clothing, and that she refused
to prepare his meals. The husband charges that his wife told him that he could
not remain at her home. He says that he bought a piece of property at No. 218
East South street, and that his wife had it placed in her name.

The relatives and friends of Mrs. Caroline Maple, who lives near Geneva, Noble Township, gave her a dinner, Thursday, the 27th lst., in honor of her forty-eighth birthday. They brought all kinds of provisions and other presents, treating the worthy lady to a complete surprise. It was somewhat curious to note that there were exactly forty-eight persons present, corresponding with the number of years of Mrs. M's. age. The recipient of the surprise dinner, is a daughter of William E. Bone, of the city, and sister of our worthy Postmaster, A. P. Bone.
