The home of  Asher Milner,  of Fairland, was damaged to the extent of probably ten dollars this morning by fire, when the lace curains in the sitting room were set in a blaze by the little one-year-and-a-half-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milner, who had got possession of a box of matches and was playing with them.
The mother, who was in the next room, discovered the blaze before it had gained much headway and rushing into the room and picking up her little babe ran out into the yard screaming for help.  Several linemen, who were repairing the telephone line nearby, heard her screams and they rushed into the house and prevented the fire from spreading until the famous volunteer bucket brigade arrived on the scene and extinguished the blaze.  The alarm of fire spread thruout the town not unlike lightning and less than fifteen minutes more than fifty residents were at the scene.
