Charging her husband with cruel and inhuman treatment and stating in the
complaint that he threatened to “blow her brains out” Mrs. Claudine J. O’Banion,
colored, has filed suit for divorce against Albert O. O’Banion. Emerson
J. Brunner, attorney of this city represents the plaintiff in the case.
The complaint sets out that the couple was married on August 2, 1920, and
that the separation took place on December 10,1923. The plaintiff states that
her husband failed to provide clothing for her and that she was forced to seek
employment in the homes of others. He accused her of improper relations with
other men, she says, and was insanely jealous. She states that he is an habitual
drunkard. She asks for the restoration of her maiden names, Claudine
Josephine Starks.
