PIPER  HOLDS  RECORD

          Russell Piper, a member of troop two of the Boy Scouts has sold 72 Liberty bonds, holding the record for the scouts in the city.  He is a son of  Mr. and  Mrs. Glen Piper, of north Tompkins street, and though not very big, is quite a hustler.  Troop two is working hard to secure the flag which will be given to the troop in the state selilng the largest number.
          Bob Davis  of troop one has sold about $45,000 worth, which is the largest sum of money that any scout has reported from the sale.

Miss Fern Piper and Mr. Paul
Sertain United as Hus-
band and Wife.

          The wedding of  Miss Fern Piper  and  Mr. Paul Sertain,  well known and popular young people of this city, was solemnized last evening at eight-thirty o'clock at the home of  Rev. J. S. Ward  on west Mechanic street.  The ceremony was read by Rev. Ward and was witnessed by  Miss Freda Schoelch  and  Mr. Louis Siefert.  License was issued to the couple yesterday evening by  Miss Helen Schoelch,  deputy at the county clerk's office, who went to the home of Mr. Sertain on Walker street for that purpose.
          The bride is the daughter of  Mr. and Mr. Glen Piper,  of north Tompkins street, and is a favorite among her large circle of friends.  She is employed as cashier and bookkeeper at the  J. W. Lux  dry cleaning establishment.  She will continue at her duties.
          The groom is the son of  Mr. and Mrs. John Sertain,  of Walker street.  He is employed as chauffeur for  Albert Kahn  and enjoys the confidence of his employer and the respect of all his acquaintances.
          The newlyweds will make their home with his parents.  The heartiest felicitations are extended to the couple by their friends for a long and happy journey on the matrimonial sea.
