Mr. B. D. Spellman, Superintedent of the county asylum, has just presented his handsome young daughter, Miss Daisy, with a very fine organ, which he purchased of that wide-awake agent, Mr. Daniel Becker, and those informed on the subject agree that Mr. Becker sells the best musical insturments now manufactured. It was presented by the father, on the occasion of the 13th birthday of his daughter, and is very much admired. On last Sunday the event was also celebrated by an elegant dinner.

CITY AND COUNTY.
-----o-----
Henry Spellman, collector and solicitor for this paper, drew $115 out of bank last Saturday to make some payments. He rather carelessly placed the money in his pants pocket, which was shallow, and in moing about lost the whole amount. Fortunately, it was found by that rarest of individuals, an honest man, and was returned to Mr. Spellman upon his describing and identifying the bills. The finder of the money was Billy Robertson, of this city, and he was rewarded for his trouble and honoesty with $10, presented by Mr. Spellman. Henry will doubtless be more careful of his funds in future.
-----o-----
Mr. Henry Spellman, who has for a long time been solicitor for this paper, has severed his connection with the office in order to take charge as superintendant of the poor for this county. During his connection with us Mr. Spellman has proved himself an energetic, honest and always affable gentleman, and we see him leave with much regret. We have no doubt he will make an excellent official in the place to which he has been elected by the commissioners, and that he will administer affairs at the poor farm in such a way as to give general satisfaction to the people. We wish him success in his new position.
