IN  FACTORY  ENGINE  ROOM

----------
Since the death of Nathan Stanley, for years engineer at the Blanchard-Hamllton factory in this city, his relatives and friends have been confronted with a mystery which has sorely puzzled their minds.  On the day that Mr. Stanley died, it was said that he had ninety dollars on his person.  When he was taken to his home, after becoming ill, according to the story, but two dollars was found In his pockets.
The theory has been advanced that Mr. Stanley had been secreting his savings at some place in the engine room, of which he was in charge for so many years.  As a result a search was Instituted Tuesday by a number of the friends of Mr. Stanley, it was said, in the hope of finding money which the former engineer was thought to have left about the place.
According to the story a thorough search was made of the engine room of the factory by a number of men.  Bricks were removed, every part of the wall sounded and the flooring investigated.
Considerable interest has been taken in the search for the money by friends of the family of Mr. Stanley, who was well known throughout the city.  In the search of Tuesday nothing was discovered, it was said, and no trace of a hiding place, in which money could have been placed, was found.

For his last Sabbath's discourse, Rev. J. C. Stanley selected the following text:
"God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." --- I John, iv:15
It is said that man is the noblest work of God; and this is true so far as we know.  Man is endowed with powers and emotions that reach far out into the infinite.  God has blessed man with faculties and capabilities that are marvelously grand, and with emotions and aspirations, so pure, so divine, as to prove beyond a doubt.
