CAUGHT  UNDER  WAGON;
CONDITION  IS  CRITICAL

Louis Stickford, Employed on Farm Near Fairland,
Injured in Accident

         Louis Stickford, employed on the Alfred Rush farm, three miles northeast of Fairland, remained in an extremely critical condition at the hospital here today following an accident at 4:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon in which he was seriously injured.  He was pinioned beneath a heavy farm wagon, loaded with cane when the wagon was overturned in crossing a culvert near the Rush farm.
          Following the accident, the injured man was rushed to the hospital here in the C. F. Fix & Son ambulance and his suffering was intense.  He remained unconscious for the following 24 hours, and altho he regained consciousness to some extent this afternoon, it was believed that his recovery is improbable.
          He was badly crushed and bruised about the chest and abdomen and also suffered a serious injury to his head.  He was attended after the accident, by Dr. M. M. Wells, of Fairland, and Dr. W. C. McFadden, of this city.
          Altho the accident was not witnessed by any residents of the Fairland community the position of the wagon and the surrounding details indicated that the vehicle had been upset when a wheel ran off the edge [the article continues - pmf]

Mrs. Fred Stickford, Near St. Paul, Victim of Cancer
------------
          Mrs. Fred Stickford,  living two miles west of St. Paul, is in a precarious condition, and her death is expected within a few days.  She is suffering from an abdominal cancer and all hopes for her has been abandoned.
          Mrs. Stickford is nearing the three score mark and is the mother of adult children, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire community in this, their sad hour.

PERSONALS.

          Fred Stickford,  one of Noble township's prominent farmers, spent the day Friday with  Mr. and Mrs. John R. McNeely, of Mildred street.  Mr. Stickford renewed his subscription to this paper while here.
