Policeman Badly Injured on Hunting Trip
In Maine.

George Tomlinson, a member of the Indianapolis police department, who has been hunting in Maine for the last two weeks, was brought home at early hour this morning suffering from a severe gunshot wound in the left thigh. Several days ago he received the full discharge from a rifle in the hands of James Sutphin, of this city, a member of the hunting party. The shooting was purely accidental.Friday, October 17, 1921

Immediately after the accident the party started for Indianapolis, reaching here at 12:30 a.m. today. Tomlinson was taken to his home at 854 Minerva street. The wound is not fatal.
The above was taken from the Indianapolis Sentinel of this morning. Mr. Tomlinson was shot Thursday night. In company with Sutphin, they went hunting by moonlight and became separated. Sutphin noticed the bushes some distance away being disturbed and thinking it a deer blazed away, the result being Tomlinson was shot through the lift thigh. They broke camp Friday morning and started for home. The Shelbyville members of the party reached here at 8:15 this morning.
