----------
The Democrat Thursday afternoon, received a pleasant call from our esteemed friend,  "Uncle" Samuel Weir,  of Sugar Creek township.  Mr. Weir is one of the substantial residents of his section, and while he is in the seventy-ninth year of his age, is very active, and last fall assisted in cribbing 1,506 bushels of corn.  He has been in this county sixty six years, and relates a story about how he assisted in felling an oak tree, near Levinson's corner, on the Public Square, and when the tree was felled six coons were captued.  One never tires of "Uncle" Sammy's company.
