Linda Akers, 50, Oak street, died at her residence Sunday at 12:50 a.m. She had been in failing health for three months.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Poindexter-Hall & McClure Funeral Home, Washington. Interment will be at the Sugarland Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time on the day of service.
She was born on Feb. 15, 1948 in Daviess County to George and Delma [sic--Delema] (Burch) Homewood. Her father survives in Linton while her mother preceded her in death on April 20. Akers was an inspector with Jasper Rubber for four months and Robinson Farms for 15 years. She was a lifelong Daviess County member and Central Christian Church member. Also surviving are her maternal grandmother, Lula Burch, Washington; two daughters, Lori (Lett) Willis, Washington and Lisa Lett, Evansville; a son, Lee Akers, Washington; a grandson and a step-grandchild.
