DEATH OF SOLOMON ALTER. --- SOLOMON ALTER, formerly editor of the Shelby Banner in this city, died in Washington City on the 11th inst. of Typhoid Pnewmonia. At the time of his death he was holding a position as Clerk in one of the departments. Like all other men, Mr. ALTER had his good and bad traits of character, but charity commands that the grave should hide the bad ones and the good only be permitted to live in our memory.
