Robert Ault, 82, of Pendleton passed from his earthly life into eternal life on June 5 after an extended battle with cancer. Born October 19, 1929 to Luther and Dorothy Ault of Lyons. He was retired from Peabody Coal Company and recently employed as a Crossing Guard by the South Madison School Corp. He was also a US Army veteran and a member of the United Methodist Church in Lyons, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley (Davidson) Ault, three daughters, Tambi Smith of Texas, Bunni Steel of Idaho and Bobbi (Jim) Cook of Anderson. Four grandchildren, Brian Vance of Tennessee, Danielle & Casey Smith of Texas, Hunter Cook of Anderson and one great grandson, Brysyn Vance. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Jo White and a son Brack Robert.
Graveside services will be held on Friday June 8 at 2:00 P.M. at the Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons with Don Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. We little knew that evening God was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Luther R. Ault, 49,
Near Lyons, Dies

Luther Reed Ault, 49 years old, well known farmer of east of Lyons, died at 3:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Freeman-Greene county hospital. He had been ill only 48 hours. Mr. Ault was born in Newberry on July 18, 1910, the son of Fred and Ella Reed Ault. He had spent most of his life in the Prairie Chapel community east of Lyons and was a member of the Prairie Chapel Methodist church.
Mr. Ault is survived by the widow, Mrs. Dorothy Marie Ault; one daughter, Mrs. James P. White of Sullivan; a son, Robert Ault of Bloomfield route two; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ault of Newberry; six brothers, Emil, Hilbert and Wilbert Ault, all of Elnora, Victor Ault of Odon, Ralph Ault of Illinois and Ray Ault of the state of Washington, and four grandchildren.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Jenkins and Sons Funeral home at Bloomfield, where, it was announced, friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist church at Lyons, with Rev. M. T. Wisley and Rev. James Boyle officiating, and burial will be made in the Prairie Chapel cemetery.
