AGED MAN DIES TODAY
AT HOME IN MARIETTA

Thomas J. Bland Died at One
O'clock This AFternoon
From Spanish Flu.

Thomas J. Bland died at one o'clock this afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William McKinney, in Marietta. His death was caused by diseases indicent to his old age and was hastened by an attack of Spanish influenza.
He would have been 79 years of age the 17th of January and had been a merchant in Marietta since April, 1857. He is survived by four sons, Leonard Bland and Orlando Bland, of Marietta; John Bland, of Johnson county, and James Bland, of Noble township, near St. Paul. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Mrs. Thomas Bland.
----------
Mrs. Thomas Bland, aged seventy-two years, died at her home in Marietta this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks of typhoid fever. She leaves a husband and five children. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Hageman & Hendrickson, who are in charge.
